Dedistancer is a tongue-in-cheek name referring to Heidegger's description of the way humans bring things to their attention, as translated by Joan Stambaugh. This wearable shelf allows a human to put a thing directly in front of them, without the inconvenience of holding it. The Dedistancer is made from scrap wood, which was cut by hand with a keyhole saw and a long antique saw. Photos by Lex Turnbull.
